South End Vacation Packages

Cons: Hard/uncomfortable mattress. Our key card stopped working multiple times (we kept it away from our phones as instructed but it would still stop working). The AC unit was incredibly loud making it hard to sleep at night. The shower didn't drain properly so the tub filled with water while showering. The towel racks were very close to coming out of the wall completely. The area is a bit sketchy at night. Parking is not included. Pros(?): Breakfast was good enough but very basic (but get there early or food runs out). The staff (probably uOttawa students) were super nice and friendly. I suppose the room was clean enough, but everything is dingy and old, so it's hard to tell how clean it really is. Location is central which is convenient, but Ottawa is so tiny and accessible (by car at least) that staying anywhere would honestly be fine. I have no idea why the majority of reviewers are giving this place an 10 or 8, but I need other potential guests to understand: this is in no way a "nice" or "good" hotel, it is an "okay" (even verging on "not good") hotel. If you have ever lived in an old student dorm or stayed in a hostel or cheap motel - that's what this place is. So if all you are looking for is a room to sleep in for 1 night and want to save some money, then sure this place is fine. More than 1 night is not recommended.

The staff was lovely. We arrived early, before our room was ready, but they allowed us to park underground so we could attend our event that day. Lovely, clean and comfortable rooms. I would definitely stay here again.

You booked the hotel solely for the waterslide. We arrived early driving from far away so that we could use the waterslide only to find out that all of the lifeguards had called in “sick”. One of the staff members indicated that having teenage lifeguards this is sometimes what happens. So that should be advertised as we wasted extra money on a pool and a waterslide that was nonfunctional and wasted our time getting there as well. We weren’t offered anything as an apology, just a too bad

Hotel was excellent, however the beds were extremely uncomfortable

The rooms are clean.staff were good. Breakfast to be improves.
